Following the likes of Fazal Gafoor who has come out with an open stand against purdah,director Kamal says that it is not necessary for women to wear purdah that cover their face. This will create problems for women folk, also limiting their chances in excelling in creative and artistic fields. Kamal was speaking in a function organised by MES.
Also citing the criticisms against the Hindi movie 'PK as unwanted, kamal maintains that any attacks against art forms can be cited as actions of fascism which works against freedom of expression.He also noted that Kamalhassan also faced similar criticisms when he was trying to release his 'Viswaroopam, last year.
