Kamal Haasan on Marudhanayagam and Vaamamaargam

After we broke the news of Kamal Haasan looking to revive his long-pending dream project 'Marudhanayagam', a few reports were doing the rounds on the film's release. The star actor's other dream project 'Vaamamaargam' also had created a buzz. Following this, the Ulaganayagan himself has now issued a statement on these two projects.

Trashing speculations that 'Marudhanayagam' and 'Vaamamaargam' were the same, Kamal has clarified that both are different films and that he hopes to complete both films and release them soon. Talking about 'Marudhanayagam', Kamal said, "When I began Marudhanayagam, my good friend PC Sreeram had his doubts on whether Marudhanayagam will attract the attention of the general audience just like how great leaders like Gandhi or Nehru did, but I told him that by the time we complete the film, it will be a household name. However, even before completing the film, it has become a household name and we should thank the audience for that."

Expressing confidence about his other dream project, "People are saying that Vaamamargam is not a Tamil title. Well. I think it's time for us (Tamils) to travel towards the world. When we make a film on Shakespeare or Robert Clive, we have to name it accordingly and can't expect a Tamil title for it," Kamal said.
