Kamal Hassan has been invited to attend the CPM state convention to be held in Alappuzha. Mammootty has been tipped to be a Rajya Sabha MP on CPM ticket and Suresh Gopi has decided to join BJP.
Kamal Hassan who has shared the venue with CPM in Kerala before has been invited to attend the State conference. CPM State conference is a culmination of district level elections that took place in the State. The State conference is being held in Alappuzha which is the home town of the veteran CPM leader and Opposition leader VS. Ex-cultural affairs minister M A Baby who is close to Kamal Hassan , has been given the job to convince the actor to attend the conference.
Kamal Hassan got his first break as a hero in Malayalam. There are several hit films in Malayalam of Kamal Hassan. Even today his box office is intact and any movie in Tamil he acts, he keeps the distribution rights of Kerala with him. Kamal Hassan has ‘Uttama Villain’ due for release and has almost completed the remake of Malayalam film `Drishyam’ in Tamil. Sources say that Baby has been asked to get Kamal Hassan for the CPM Congress to be held in Vijayawada later, in case he is not free in February.
Suresh Gopi has decided to join BJP. He was seen in a cameo role in Shankar’s ‘I’. Gopi had met Narendra Modi before the elections. Gopi claimed that he was asked by Modi’s messengers to contest the Lok Sabha poll several times but he declined since he did not want to hurt the veteran O Rajagopal who was tipped to be the candidate. Gopi is now waiting for a call from Modi.
In the Lok Sabha election, CPM fielded Innocent, a comedian in a seat and pitted against veteran Congress leader P C Chacko. Innocent won. Now there are reports that CPM is planning to field Mammootty for the next upcoming seat for Rajya Sabha. Mamooyty is already chairman of a channel funded by CPM.
