Kamal Haasan set to revive Marudhanayagam after 17 years!

A London based friend of the actor has apparently showed interest in funding the shelved project

Kamal Haasan, known for being a perfectionist, is set to have three releases this year – Uttama Villain, Vishwaroopam II and Papanasam. While fans are excited to catch their favourite star on the big screen this year, there is an exciting news for all Kamal fans which will make you jump with joy. The Uttama Villain star is all set to revive his long shelved period flick, Marudhanayagam.
The buzz in the industry is that a London based buddy of Mr Haasan has shown keen interest to produce the film. Confirming the news Kamal said, “Yes, it’s true that one of my London friends have come forward to finance the film’s production. I might start to work in Maruthanayagam after releasing Vishwaroopam II, Papanasam and Uttama Villain“.
The film, which was launched in 1997, in the esteemed presence of Queen Elizabeth II, the late Sivaji Ganesan and superstar Rajinikanth, got shelved due to financial issues. Mr Haasan will have to look for replacements of late Amrish Puri and late Vishnuvardhan, who were a part of Marudhanayagam. While rumours of Marudhanayagam being revived has been doing rounds for about a year now, fans are ecstatic to hear the confirmation from Kamal Haasan himself.
