Rajini-Kamal-Amitabh legacy lives on

Three of Indian cinema's giants came together onscreen three decades back for “Geraftaar” in 1985. A time when each of these stars were building up a reputation for each of them. The movie went on to become a fine hit, now thirty years hence the legacy of the trio come together in a unique way.

Rajini’s son-in-law Dhanush, Kamal Hassan’s younger daughter Akshara Hassan and the great Big B himself will be seen together for the movie Shamitabh which is due to be released very soon. Call it coincidence, sheer luck or whatsoever, the mere mention of these names itself is suffice to pull crowds into the theatres, agree?

Papanasam dubbing on full swing

Kamal Haasan returned back from USA before few days completing few CG works and final mixing of his tracks for Uthama Villain. Right now, he is close on the heels of wrapping up with the dubbing works for Papanasam. As known earlier, the film is a remake of Malayalam blockbuster movie Drishyam that starred Mohanlal and Meena in lead roles with Jeethu Joseph wielding the megaphone. With three back-to-back films of Kamal Haasan films Vishwaroopam II, Papanasam and Uthama Villain lined up for back to back releases, the proper order of release is yet to be confirmed.

Bollywood meets Kollywood: Big B, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Dhanush among stars at Shamitabh music launch

Akshara Haasan had her family out in support for the launch of her debut film Shamitabh. She was seen with sister Shruti and father Kamal Haasan. Also seen were Sridevi, stars of the film Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush, Sridevi, Rajinikanth and music composer Ilaiyaraaja.

First look: Kamal Haasan and Gauthami in 'Papanasam'

Kamal Haasan is currently shooting for Papanasam, the Tamil remake of Malayalam blockbuster Drishyam. Directed by Jeetu Joseph, who helmed the original, the film features actress Gauthami in a comeback role almost after two decades.

The actor, who is known to experiment in his films, will be seen speaking in the Tirunelveli accent.

"Kamal will be speaking in the Tirunelveli accent in some portions of the film. He hasn't used the slang before in his films. Therefore, he's training in it to get a hang of it from writer Suga," writer Jeyamohan, who has penned the film's dialogues, told IANS.

Kamal Haasan Is The Best Singer: Ilaiyaraaja

Praising Kamal Haasan's singing ability, Ilaiyaraaja has disclosed that among all the actors those who have sung for him, the best singer is undoubtedly Kamal Haasan. "His grasping power is fantastic, be it the scene or music", said the celebrated musician.
Talking about Amitabh Bachchan, he not only called Big B unbelievable, very nice and wonderful, but also termed him a very good singer. "I have heard him sing before I composed music for him. Balki made me listen to that. His singing is very nice and he keeps his sur in mind",said the legendary music director.
Ilaiyaraaja's latest work is Shamitabh that features Dhanush, Amitabh Bachchan and Akshara Haasan in the lead. The film which is directed by Balki has already received positive reviews directed towards the background score and performances based on its trailer. The songs of Shamitabh too is attracting positive reviews from critics as well as fans.

Divorced Kamal Haasan, Sarika greet each other warmly at Shamitabh launch

Filmmaker and southern superstar Kamal Haasan has always had a tumultous time especially when it comes to his personal life. The actor had two failed marriages, both breaking due to the involvement of a second woman.
Kamal Haasan’s first marriage was to actress Veena Ganapathy which broke apart when Haasan grew closer to actress Sarika. His marriage to Sarika failed when Haasan was alleged to be in a relationship with a relatively younger actress Simran. The divorce was pain staking and apparently ugly.
Since then, the duo had not made any public appearances together or got the chance to meet at a public event. But at the music lauch of their younger daughter Akshara’s Bollywood debut ‘Shamitabh’, it so happened that Kamal Haasan and Sarika came face to face and even greeted each other.
